Live sports schedule

DMCA and copyright

StreamEast does not host video. Nothing that plays after you press a Watch button is stored on our server, uploaded by us or passed through our network. What our pages do hold is a schedule: event names, start times and links that open stream pages on other websites. This page explains how a rights holder can ask us to take one of those links down.

Before you write

If your complaint is about the video itself, the site that hosts the stream is the one that can stop it. Removing a link from StreamEast does not stop a stream from playing elsewhere, so it is worth contacting the host as well. What we can remove is anything that appears on streameast.gdn: a Watch row, the link inside it or an event's listing.

How to send a notice

E-mail [email protected] with "DMCA" in the subject line, so the notice is kept apart from schedule reports. The page is named after the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act, whose notice format we use, but a notice can come from a rights holder in any country. Please include:

  1. The copyrighted work concerned, for example the broadcast of a named game or a channel you hold rights in.
  2. The full streameast.gdn address of each page involved and, if the notice is about particular rows, the label of each one (SportsUpdates 1, for instance).
  3. Your name, postal address, telephone number and e-mail address, plus the name of the rights holder if you are acting for one.
  4. A line stating your good-faith view that the copyright owner, someone acting for the owner, or the law has not given permission for the use you are complaining about.
  5. A sentence, made under penalty of perjury, confirming that everything in the notice is correct and that the rights are yours or you are authorised to act for whoever holds them.
  6. A signature, physical or electronic. We accept your full name typed at the end of the e-mail.

What we do with it

We read each notice and look at the pages it names. If the notice is complete and the material is on streameast.gdn, we remove the rows or links it identifies, along with the same link anywhere else it appears on this site, and we reply to say what was taken down. If something is missing from the notice, we write back and ask for it before acting. Complete notices are dealt with as quickly as we can manage, but we do not promise a fixed deadline.

Counter-notices

If you think a link was removed by mistake, for instance because the notice named the wrong page or the wrong work, you can send a counter-notice to the same address with "DMCA counter-notice" as the subject. It should say what was removed and where it appeared, and explain why you think the removal was wrong. Add your name, postal address, telephone number and e-mail address, a declaration under penalty of perjury of your good-faith belief that the item was removed by mistake or because it was misidentified, and your signature.

A copy of the counter-notice may be sent to the person who filed the original notice. Whether a link is restored is our decision, and a removed link is not guaranteed to return.

Repeated problems

When valid notices keep arriving about the same outside source, we may drop that source from every page of the site. Please send notices only for works you own or represent: under the DMCA, anyone who knowingly misrepresents that material infringes, or that it was removed by mistake, can be held liable for damages.
